Goule-Toppin advances in women's 800m while Tracey banking on second chance

It was contrasting results for Jamaica in the women's 800m preliminary as Natoya Goule-Toppin easily navigated her heat to qualify for the semi-finals at the Paris Olympics while Adelle Tracey will contend the repechage round to try to book her spot.

Goule-Toppin was in fine form in heat six of the event, winning in 1:58.66.

In heat four, Tracey was off the pace as she finished eighth in 2:04.47 and missed out on automatic qualification.

She will have a second chance in the repechage round set for tomorrow at 4:20 a.m. Jamaica time.
