Jamaica's Natoya Goule-Toppin failed to advance to the women's 800m final after finishing sixth in semi-final one at the Stade de France at the Paris Games.

Goule-Toppin, who led for most of the race, faded badly with some 150 metres to go and had to settle for sixth place with a time of 1:58.14 seconds.

Mary Moraa of Kenya won the event in 1:57.86. Worknesh Mesele of Ethiopia also advanced to the final after finishing second with a personal best time of 1: 58.06 seconds.
