It was full speed ahead for the under-14 Reggae Boyz as they defeated Caribbean rivals Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) yesterday to book their spot in the next round of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Boys’ Under-14 Challenge Series.

Goals from Davion Clarke and Corlando Morris sealed the win for Jamaica as they ran out comfortable winners at the end of regulation time.

It was a great start to proceedings for the Boyz who took early control of the game from the first whistle at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Tobago.

They found the lead in the 28th minute through Clarke who struck true despite being closed down by T&T defenders on the edge of the penalty box.

Jamaica doubled their lead just a minute into the second half after a misplaced pass from T&T defender Lucas Shaw allowed Jamaica to break on the counter.

Morris picked up the loose ball, dribbled past two defenders and slotted home to earn his goal on the night.

Perfect defensive record

It was the third win from as many games for the Boyz as they currently top the group on a maximum nine points, with T&T second on six points. St Kitts and Aruba sit third and fourth respectively, both on one point.

The match also confirmed a perfect defensive record for the Boyz who have yet to concede in the tournament so far after a 2-0 opening victory against St Kitts which was followed by a 6-0l drubbing of Aruba in the group’s second fixture.

Kelvin Brown currently stands as the Jamaican team’s top goalscorer as his four-goal haul against St Kitts sees him standing above Kyle Hussey who is in second on the scoring chart with two goals.

The Boyz will turn their attention to their next assignment against Aruba today in the final group stage game as they hope to close out their campaign as group winners.

The match is set for 5:30 p.m. Jamaica time at the Dwight Yorke Stadium.`
