DEFENDING ISSA Rural Schoolgirl Netball senior champions ST CATHERINE High School are in a fight to ensure they make it through to the final four of the competition when the last set of second-round games tip off at the Leila Robinson Courts today.

The defending champions find themselves in a precarious position after a loss to The Queen’s School left them second in Group B, tied with José Martí, who they face today.

Two teams from each group qualify for the quarterfinals.

Queen’s, who cannot be surpassed, having beaten both teams, play the Convent of Mercy Academy, Alpha.

St Catherine’s juniors are in a similar position to their seniors. They are in second place in Group B behind a perfect St Hugh’s. With their five points, St Catherine face a José Martí, who, with four points, can leapfrog them and move to six with a victory.

St Hugh’s, Wolmer’s Girls’, and Gaynstead hold the other three semifinal spots.
