National honour for Shaggy?
THE EDITOR, Sir:
THE ORDER of Jamaica is a highly-rated honour bestowed upon individuals who have made significant contributions to the country of Jamaica.
One of the most recent recipients of this award was the Honourable Usain St. Leo Bolt who, through hard work, disci-pline and dedication placed Jamaica on top of the track and field world by becoming the fastest man alive.
Likewise, one of our dancehall entertainers, Shaggy, who I dub 'The kindest man alive', has made tremendous donations to health care in Jamaica. Over the years, Shaggy has formed his own charity and, along with fellow entertainers and celebrities, have raised millions of dollars in contribution towards the Bustamante Hospital for Children.
This generosity is not to be overlooked. Hundreds of lives of innocent children have been blessed by this man. I, personally, believe the Bustamante Hospital for Children, or even a section of it, should be renamed in honour of this 'boombastic' Samaritan.
I, hereby, declare my vote for the 'Honourable Shaggy'.
I am, etc.,
