Sweet delights at Haagen Dazs

Häagen Dazs in Barbican Centre recently rolled out a line of delectably sweet treats on their new menu. Manager Janel Cross told The Gleaner's Food section that the new menu has more visuals, detailed descriptions and, "of course, you can choose your perfect combination".
One of their sinfully delicious new items is chocolate-and-toffee temptation. Imagine a luscious chocolate muffin surrounded by hot caramel sauce with scoops of dulce de leche and Belgian chocolate finished with whipped cream and a sprinkling of almonds. Salivating yet?
Maybe you should try the caramel biscuit crunch - caramel biscuit and cream with vanilla ice cream served with hot caramel sauce, caramel biscuits and whipped cream.
If you feel for a drink, try Indulgence - a blend of Kahlua, vanilla ice cream, chocolate fudge sauce and fresh ice cream.
Häagen Dazs is not just about ice cream. There is a wide range of hot drinks, classic cocktails, cool chillers, coffees and chilled beverages, like a tequila sunrise or piña colada, which is vanilla ice cream blended with dark rum and coconut cream.
One very exciting resident on the menu has been the fondue, created from hot molten chocolate sauce combined with an assortment of mini-scoops, fresh seasonal fruits and warm patisserie. To break it down for you, each fondue comes with: four mini-scoops of Belgian chocolate, four mini-scoops of strawberries and cream, four mini-scoops of cookies and cream, and four mini-scoops of vanilla, pieces of chocolate brownie, chocolate chip cookie, local fruits, milk or dark chocolate sauce . This can be topped off with any combination of their numerous toppings: chocolate cookie crunch, rainbow sprinkles, mixed nuts, peanuts, rainbow sprinkles or chocolate sprinkles. Of course, for such a masterpiece they need two days' reservation.
If you're lactose intolerant, there is something for you, even if its just a sorbet.
