NEW ORLEANS (AP):

New Orleans chef John Besh has a busy schedule coming up. The celebrity chef will star in a new TLC series beginning June 14, and has begun production week on a PBS series that is planned for next year.

For TLCs Inedible to Incredible, which has already shot the first season, Besh rescues home cooks from their disasters.

Besh says it is aimed at improving the way Americans eat. He says he takes problem recipes, shows the cooks why it is a problem, and shows them how to fix it.

According to Thursday's Times-Picayune, his PBS show will be shot at New Orleans' WYES-TV station, where Justin Wilson and chef Paul Prudhomme shot their cooking shows.

John Besh is a chef and native son dedicated to the culinary riches of southern Louisiana. At each of his six acclaimed restaurants: August, Besh Steak, LŸke, La Provence, American Sector, and Domenica, as well as in his entrepreneurial pursuits, his first cookbook, My New Orleans, Andrews McMeel Publishing, October 2009, and his public activities, he celebrates the bounty and traditions of the region.

A former US Marine, Besh has been honoured by Food & Wine ('Top 10 Best New Chefs in America') Gourmet Magazine (Guide to America's Best Restaurants) Food Arts (Silver Spoon Award) and the James Beard Foundation (Best Chef Southeast.) John Besh is a frequent guest chef on NBC's Today Show, and has appeared on top programmes on The Food Network and the Sundance Channel.
