Jamaicans love food and probably eat out more than they do at home.

The Food team is on a mission to find the best places in the island for some of your favourites. Do you know where to find the best jerk chicken, mannish water or favourite cup of porridge? Tell us at lifestyle@gleanerjm.com, and we might just put it to the test.

Just ask for Soupie.

Travelling along the bumpy main road from Spur Tree to Junction in St Elizabeth, there's a little open-air shack which serves, for some, the best cow-skin soup in Jamaica.

Right beside the train tracks in Stevens Run, you can find Soupie.

"It a gwaan good man. Yuh know yuh have slow time inna everything."

So, does she use any other meat?

"Is straight cow skin. Mi jus' specialise inna it. Wi try a ting, it mek a big hit, so wi jus' move on wid it," she said. The main ingredients are dumplings, peanuts and, of course, cow skin. Soupie has been selling soup for about five years and in the few minutes we were there, everyone from farmers to officers of the law stopped by for their meal-on-the-go. Soupie only uses logwood as claimed it helps with the flavour.

You can find Soupie every day and her prices range from $100 for the small cup to $300 for the larger Styrofoam one. Oh, and cow-skin lovers, yes, your lips do stick together when you're done. Eat up!
