It is summer time and that usually means an increase in the temperature. And to beat the heat, refreshing drinks will come in quite handy.

You may not think about ice cream as a part of the heat-beating drink arsenal. But, Crazy Jim has been a sponsor at several social events where patrons have been treated to many of its ice-cream based drinks (yep, drinks). And this week, Food will be sharing three drink recipes, including one for the children.

According to Kimberly Smith-Williamson, promotions, merchandising and account executive, the drinks and the recipes are an illustration of the many ways the popular ice cream can be used.

"They are easy to make and can be personalised to one's preference or mood," she said.

There is no limitation to the flavour soda or ice cream that can be used to make the beverages. However, using solid ice cream flavours creates a better fusion and depending on flavour, a different taste and colour.
