IT WAS a day of 'belly-filling' fun at Augus' Fair and Culinary Show, hosted by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) on the lawns of the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre on Monday, August 2 - Emancipation Day.

With more than 20 food booths, the JCDC unfolded a tribute to traditional Jamaican cuisine, with patrons sampling goodies, including a variety of jerked products, 'ole time' pulled peppermint candy and 'blue draws', among others.

Other attractions included bammy making, stamp-and-go and pulled candy displays where patrons who wished to take a stroll down memory lane eagerly participated.

Augus' Fair provided the total package for patrons wishing to indulge in traditional Jamaican culture and an avenue for parents to teach their children about 'ole time' Jamaica.

Scores of families came out to enjoy traditional food, kiddies' attractions and performances of traditional Jamaican dance forms such as Dinki Mini, Maypole and Jamaican ring games.

Augus' Fair 2010 was hosted under the theme 'I Believe in Jamaica!'
