"People's lifestyles have really changed and so you find that many of us are always on the go. So if you are looking for functionality, quality and sophistication, Brown Sugar has pieces just for you." This is according to store owner Gabrielle Chin who caters to women in their mid-20s and up, providing them with fashion to suit various lifestyles.

"We strive towards getting more of a timeless look based on our pieces. There are items you can wear and wear, put down and then wear some more. Trend is important, but so is classic."

The store, which is located at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel, features designers out of New York and California with names such as Nicole Miller. "A lot of these pieces are inspired by Californian designers and they represent a relaxed but sophisticated, casual chic look."

Retailing apparel and accessories, Chin notes that fashion has truly evolved and that even the very relaxed look can be polished.
