A partnership between Darren Virtue and girlfriend Latoya Wright has given birth to a fashionable baby - a buzzing accessory store.

Located at Orchid Village on Barbican Road, MOD36 appeals to the very fashion-forward woman who appreciates the value of statement pieces.

"The store is really for those persons who are open-minded and are into trendy and ... chic pieces," said Wright.

With the intention of making it a one-stop accessory store, MOD36 features pieces that will complete a look. And according to Wright, once a piece is worn, it will definitely be remembered.

"We have handbags, gloves, stockings, hair accessories, watches, hats, belts, jewellery like necklaces, rings and earrings. They are very dramatic and chunky pieces that really pop."

The store's decoration is fun and artistic utilising animal prints. The accessories were selected based on the influence of Wright's personal taste. And with 'MOD' meaning 'a very out there style of dressing', she certainly went all out in her selections.

"The idea to open a store like this really came from my frustration in finding the types of accessories I wanted. It was kind of hard to get a piece that I would set out to get. And after getting the idea, I just did up a plan and started my own research."

With just two months between conception and execution, MOD36 was officially opened on December 30. It is located in a plaza that has night life, a move that Wright said was deliberate.

"We wanted somewhere that had a really good night life and, as you can see, we have a restaurant in front of us and a pizzeria beside us, so there is constant activity." The store is conveniently open between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. to catch both the early birds and those who want to make a last-minute purchase.

To show off a few of the pieces available, models Deandra Wright and Joelle-Raye Smith were on duty.
