Owner and personal trainer at All About You Fitness Studio, Nicholas Pitt, says one of the greatest benefits of having a personal trainer is the personalised attention clients get, which increases the chances of getting maximum results.

Discipline is a critical factor in the success of any fitness regime. So, especially for the new year, many go the route of becoming a member of a gym to meet their fitness goals. But there are some who require more than a gym membership.

"Gyms are for people who are more knowledgeable and can do a workout with minimum guidance, while for persons who are just starting out, or who want to achieve a specific goal and need motivation, a personal trainer would be best," notes personal trainer, Nicholas Pitt.

Owner of All About You Fitness Studio, Pitt notes that personal training refers to one-on-one trainer and client sessions. Strictly providing those services at his studio, the fitness buff says the life of a personal trainer is quite demanding but rewarding.

According to him, apart from conducting training sessions with clients, his duties go beyond that to include providing diet options.

"Not all personal trainers are able to recommend and provide diet sheets to their clients but, fortunately, I am able to do that," he notes.

Working in the fitness industry for the past eight years, Pitt says the reception to a private institution such as his has been positive.

"The response has been overwhelming. We provide quality service and so you find that people have stayed with us, and many have joined because of that too." And with the growth comes more responsibilities, and in order not to short-change clients, Pitt has hired the services of two trainers, Fabian Domize and Merrick Watson to work along with him.

"We really strive to give clients our undivided attention and each trainer is very knowledgeable so clients can get the best results."

Opining that instructors have a great role to play in their clients meeting their goals, Pitt says it is also very important for clients to have the 'three Ds'.

"They have to have the dedication, determination and discipline. They have to eat on time, be at the gym on time and be dedicated to achieving their goals." Additionally, he says, dieting is crucial in any fitness programme. Acknowledging that persons have various goals and targets, he says these goals have to be considered healthy for the individual and, therefore, he approaches his duties with that mindset.

Providing services through appointments only, the studio is open on weekdays from 5:15 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The studio is closed on Sundays.
