Youths should listen to Senator Newby

THE EDITOR, Sir:

A FEW youth groups are calling for the youth portfolio to be shifted to the education ministry because some youths take issue with Minister Olivia Grange's handling of the programme. One youth has also taken Senator Warren Newby's comments personal.

I am calling on these groups - the National Youth Parliament and the National Youth Council and others - to clear up any differences they may have with Minister Grange and Senator Newby in a more professional manner that will a show good example to other youths in the wider society.

I have known Senator Newby for many years and he has been a good example to me and others in society.

I have observered that he has displayed excellent leadership qualities with good discipline for all young professionals - the next leaders of the country - to follow.

I believe if the youth groups have any issue with him, he is a person you can talk to without going to the media. I can only say so much about him. If I knew anything about Minister Grange I would disclose it, but I do not.

So I will ask all the youths in Jamaica to listen to this young man when he speaks and give him solutions to the country's crisis, because one of the main reasons that he works so much with these youth groups is that he wants leaders of the next generation to rise from among youth at an early stage.

I am, etc.,
