It was not an ordinary day at church when Steve McKenzie made known his undying love for Subbraina Forrest.

Mother's Day 2010 will never be forgotten as he surprised everyone, including the love of his life, with the proposal. Drums rolled, cymbals clanged, persons cheered, and rags waved, as the confident man walked down the aisle for the hand of his wife-to-be. It took a while for order to be regained at church that day as persons could not believe what they were witnessing.

After sessions of premarital counselling with Pastor Sharon Ricketts, Subbraina and Steve had the most beautiful and meticulously planned wedding that anyone could ever put together in six months.

Together with about 100 of their closest friends and family members, they exchanged vows at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Deliverance Full Gospel Church of God. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev Desmond Green.

Everyone stood at the sound of the trumpet as the bride got ready to make her entrance. Persons were smiling, others allowed a tear or two to escape as they welcomed the unity of the model couple.

The reception

The reception was held at Elegant Weddings where a touch of class went into the entire décor. Beautifully decorated with the wedding colours, burnt orange, green and gold, persons were in awe of the beautiful setting. The vivacious MC, Panceta Walker, coupled with the stunning bridal party, kept guests entertained as they made sure the evening was nothing short of sheer elegance.

It is often said 'You don't marry someone you can live with, you marry the person whom you cannot live without', and this is exactly how the couple feel about each other. They spent their long-awaited honeymoon at Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort and Spa in Lucea, Hanover.
