THE POLICE inspector who is facing drug-related charges has been granted bail in the sum of $30 million, which has been described as one of the highest bail offers in recent memory.

Inspector Dale Isaacs, 38, was granted bail yesterday when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court before Resident Magistrate Lorna Shelly Williams. He is to return to court on August 2.

The bail was granted in the amount with three sureties.

Isaacs is charged with possession of ganja, taking steps to export ganja, dealing in and trafficking ganja.

He was held last Saturday in an undercover operation by members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force's Anti-Corruption Branch.

It is alleged that 179 pounds of compressed ganja worth $40 million was seized from a vehicle the inspector was driving on the Mandela Highway. Isaacs, who has more than 12 years of service in the police force, is attached to a division in the Corporate Area.
