Trevor Heaven, president of the Jamaica Gasolene Retailers' Association (JGRA), was unanimously re-elected at the Wyndham Kingston hotel two Saturdays ago.

"I'm humbled by the fact the membership has seen it fit to return me unanimously to serve another term," he said. "I intend to continue the process of articulating positions to the benefit of the membership."

"I want to continue and enhance the partnership we've developed with our suppliers and stakeholders in the industry."

The JGRA executive body comprises Derrick Thompson, first vice-president; Errol Edwards and Bobby Hammond are second vice-president and third vice-president, respectively.

Heaven said he was given a mandate by the membership to convert service-station operations from free air to token-operated air scales.

"However, we would seek a way not to charge a customer who has not been loyal for many years," he said.

Manchester-based Heaven had served as president of the JGRA from 2004 to 2006.
