THE FIRST of three debates between the country's two main political parties ahead of the upcoming general election could be finalised in days.
With the election expected before year end, the Jamaica Debates Commission said yesterday it was trying to work out a schedule of debates that would not interfere with the political campaigns.
Commission Chairman Gary Allen, who was speaking at a press conference at The Courtleigh Hotel in St Andrew yesterday, said the first debate would be held before nomination day.
"In the next two to three days, we will try and finalise the dates and at that point we will make the announcement," Allen said at the press conference.
