Satisfying, enticing Chinese dishes

Jamaicans love Chinese food. The various dishes from one of our 'out of many, one' nationalities have always held a special place in the heart of Jamaicans. Dragon Palace, upstairs Tropical Plaza in Kingston, has tapped into this love for Chinese cuisine every year of the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week.

This year is no different and Dragon Palace wants to make its way on to your list of restaurants this year by enticing you with continued favourites, Chinese roast chicken and barbecue pork.

"The roast chicken is the best because our chef does the skin very crispy and people love it," said Denise Shum, part owner of the establishment. She added that the pork is just as tasty, with a sweet sauce highlighting the lean meat.

"The pork has no skin, no fat, just the meat with an excellent sauce," said Shum.

"Last year, the dish was really popular because of the two meats," she said of the hearty main course, which is served with rice.

Dragon Palace, which is in the Savoury category, offers traditional Chinese fare, and the setting is ideal for family, friends, business associates and couples alike.
