Executive chef and owner of Caffé Da Vinci located inside the Marketplace is Allessandra Bardolini. On board for the third year for the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week, the Italian eatery continues to do well as the Jamaican taste buds continue to explore foods from other cultures.

This year, the Restaurant Week menu has a number of new items added to tantalise customers. The tenderloin in green pepper sauce is a new entrée, as well as the mixed grilled seafood that comes in a number of seafood varieties such as shrimp, lobster and calamari, depending on your preference. This seafood fare is served with the traditional lemon sauce for extra flavour, but patrons will have the option of choosing their sauce.

Being a Italian restaurant, naturally, pasta has to be a part of the mix. Bardolini told Food that there are a number of new pastas that are doing well, such as the riggatoni with lamb sauce as well as a few vegetarian dishes like the parmigiana with cheese.

"Last year, we didn't have a lot of vegetarian dishes, but this year, we added a few more for those who are veggie lovers."

All pizzas from the menu will also be available during Restaurant Week.

For persons with a sweet tooth, there is the dolce en banana and the profite roll, which is a home-made pastry filled with chantilly cream, served with a hot chocolate sauce.

The restaurateur said she loves what she is doing, and she loves to please her customers. She is overjoyed to be a part of the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week for another year.
