Adventist contradictions

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I refer to the programme Religious Hardtalk of April 16 and 23, 2013 in which Seventh-day Adventist member, André Hill, accused their founder and prophetess, Ellen G. White, of falsehood and contradicting the Scriptures. He also disclosed that one has to profess faith in White's teaching as a condition for baptism. Does not the latter border on blasphemy?

Their flagship teaching is that the Catholic Church/Constantine changed the Sabbath to Sunday, but they cannot point to any valid historical record to support it. Instead, they quote 325 AD, 364 AD, and 140 AD, contradicting White herself and not caring that all scriptural and historical records prior to those dates show worshipping on Sunday being practised.

It is understandable, therefore, why they rely so heavily on misrepresenting the Catholic Church to achieve what they regard as success. They disregard the teaching of the Apostles, whom Jesus commissioned to teach all nations and their successors, and instead teach the doctrine of Ellen G. White, yet some among them contradict her.

It does not take a prophet to see that the salvation of the adherents of this group is in peril.
