A rush of 'Tezzas

A bevy of beautiful Tezza World Jamaica promotional women, an approximately 50-strong membership group of Toyota Altezza owners and a special guest appearance from dancehall artiste Mavado topped off Tezza Rush, held at the Texaco Service Station, Mary Brown's Corner, St Andrew, on Friday, June 29.

The first grand link-up for members of the group, centred around the Toyota Altezza, featured musical entertainment, giveaways, a number of modified cars and bikers. The get-together lasted several hours and drew many passers-by.

"The event was basically what we had expected. We expected a full complement of our car members. We have over 50 car members and it is still growing, as on the night of the event people wanted to register with us. We invited other car clubs - BMW Innovations, Exotic Cars and Fashions and the Subaru Owners Club of Jamaica - and there was a special appearance from Toyota Jamaica. It was an event filled with fun, frolic and excitement," said president of Tezza World Jamaica, Elvis Byfield.

GRAND LINK-UPS COMING SOON

The group is currently making plans to stage more grand link-ups in the not-too-distant future, this time in Mandeville and Ocho Rios. While not offering a specific date when they will take place, Byfield projects some time in the last quarter of 2013 for the Ocho Rios, St Ann, event following a third quarter staging in Mandeville, Manchester.

"We plan to do some cross-country appearances. We are going to places like Mandeville and Ocho Rios, because the guys there have been expressing a particular interest in becoming a part of the Tezza World unit. We are just going to do a grand drive down there," Byfield said.

In assessing Tezza Rush, Byfield pointed out that parking had been an issue. He explained that the solution lies in properly organising the vehicles and designating someone to man the area.
