Hawkeye owners sign Mayberry as investment adviser - Plans to expand via acquisition

Eyeing potential opportunities in the security industry, the management team of DLM Group, holding company for Hawkeye Electronic Security Limited and Ranger Protection and Security Company Limited, has signed Mayberry Investments Limited to act as its lead financial adviser.

Typically, such a move tends to be the forerunner for a float of shares or other fundraising activity.

"We don't have any immediate expansion plans, but we anticipate that with the state of the security industry now that opportunities are going to present itself in a short period of time, and we just want to be in a position to take advantage of those opportunities," said Sean Clacken, CEO of DLM.

Clacken said the expansion approach will be mainly through acquisitions.

"Everything is dependent on when those opportunities present themselves. But we anticipate that all of this will take place in a two-year window," he said.

Hawkeye Electronic Security Limited provides security services and solutions for the protection of people and property in Jamaica.

The security firm specialises in the installation of electronic security systems for residential and commercial applications, including intrusion alarms, CCTV surveillance systems, remote video surveillance, access control, armoured courier and vehicle tracking.

Hawkeye also represents manufacturers of security products such as Pelco Video Security Systems, American Dynamics, Sensormatic (EAS Systems), Morse Watchman Inc, Garrett Metal Detectors, Hikvision, FAAC Gate Automation and CheckVideo.

Hawkeye owns and operates its own fully equipped 24-hour monitoring centre and armed response to priority alarms from client's locations.

Ranger Protection has been offering static guard services since February 1985. The company currently has a guard force of over 1,500 security officers and provides service to hospitality, financial institutions, retail, industrial and other commercial and private clients islandwide.

Both Hawkeye and Ranger provide security solutions and services across Jamaica, and operate from offices in Kingston, Mandeville, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios.
