At first, he was worried that the marriage between himself and his dearly beloved Audi TT was about to crash. But Doug Gore would not allow the prestigious race car to slip out of his hands.

"So when Mr Stewart (Adam) told me that ATL was pulling out of motor racing, I was really worried. Because it was a 50/50 per cent ownership between myself and ATL. I decided to talk with Mr Stewart. I then sold two cars to make up the money to buy out ATL's share in the Audi TT. Today, I can say that I am the sole owner," said Gore.

According to Gore, the sole ownership of the Audi represents another milestone in his 17 years of motorsport.

"I began motorsport with a two-door Opel Corsa and today, I am driving an Audi," a smiling Gore remarked.

Last week, Adam Stewart stressed that ATL was exiting motor racing for personal and commercial reasons. Less than 24 hours after the ATL CEO disclosed that his company was pulling out of motor racing and will no longer be Doug Gore's sponsor, the tall Montegonian had already secured at least three major sponsors.

MORE COMPETITIONS

"Come next year, the plan is to do some of the things that I was unable to do, like competing in some of the major events across the region," chuckled Gore, who spoke with Automotives from his private warehouse in Medley, Miami, on Friday.

But while Gore has already wrapped up negotiations with three sponsors, he is now negotiating with two powerhouse sponsors, whom he believes will fill the void left by ATL.

The Audi has attracted thousands to Dover, and has helped Gore win the Thundersport 1 Championship. He is currently in a good position to win the 2013 Caribbean Motor Racing Championship which concludes later this month.
