Fidelity Motors treated customers to its second yard sale for the year yesterday, following a first staging in February. Held at its Hanover Street head office, parts for both newer and older Nissan models were made available at discounted prices.

Parts manager at Fidelity, Paul Robinson, said the first yard sale was a success and customers wanted a repeat. "We held one earlier in the year and by popular demand we did it again. Persons actually wanted us to do it every month, but we couldn't manage that. Come next year, we are going to do three," he remarked.

Customers with older Nissan models benefited more from the sale. "It's a clearance sale, but more in the form of a yard sale. It wasn't the entire inventory. We put the items we wanted to clear in the yard. Those parts were for the older vehicles, mostly from 2001 to 2009, and majority of their items were up to 70 per cent off," Robinson said.

Parts that were not on display attracted lesser discounts. "The other items that were not in the yard but in the warehouse, we offered 15 per cent on those," the parts manager said.

Included in the yard sale were front end, brake and oil lubrication parts, compressors, radiators and alternators. It was so comprehensive that Robinson joked "we didn't have any roofs".

Customers who made purchases and opted to service their vehicles are also eligible for a 30 per cent discount on labour. This is valid until December 20, as not all servicing could be carried out on the day," Robinson explained.
