WESTERN BUREAU:

The 135-year-old Victoria Mutual Building Society (VMBS) hosted an intimate group at the Pelican restaurant in Montego Bay recently at what was tagged, 'Cocktails and Discussion'.

The event was punctuated by tasty cocktails, the best of Rory Frankson's larynx, at the thank-you reception for those who have helped the solid financial leader remain stable.

Organised by branch manager Suzette Ramdanie-Linton and her powerhouse team, the panel discussion with Rezworth Burchenson, of Prime Asset Management Limited - the newest arm of VMBS, Andrena McMayo, head of treasury, and Davon Crump, president and CEO, Global Outsourcing Solutions, was the highlight of the evening.

The ever affable Jeanne Robinson-Foster, from the company's board of directors, took guests through the history of the company. Extremely proud of the financial institution's achievements, Robinson-Foster spoke of the successes due, in no small part, to its members, customers and key stakeholders. "It is the trust and loyalty of our members and customers; the dedication and commitment of our team members; and the steadfast leadership of our board of directors and management team that have provided the impetus for the Society's sustained growth," she noted.

Everyone at the event was presented with a early Christmas gift. Today brings you highlights of the event.
