CABANA CITY RESERVE, for you, not for everyone - Changing the game this season!
Fidge Fletcher, Contributor
Downtown Kingston by the waterfront was transformed into a massive party playground for the chosen elite. Cabana City was the perfect party to kick off the holiday season. There was a feeling of freedom, happiness and togetherness among the crowd enjoying the fact that the holiday season is here and it's finally time to kick off our work shoes.
Phillip Palmer, Deane Shepherd and Che Bowen with their staging of Cabana City have set the bar high for the party scene, giving us a true luxury-inclusive experience. The set-up was impressive with the spacious cabanas, multiple bars for fluidity and the great food stations to stop by for a quick bite. This premium party experience was reminiscent of a party on a waterfront in downtown Miami. Cabana City Reserve was the premium event for the Christmas, as they showcased some of the most premium brands in their top shelf bar, while serving patrons with delectable items, courtesy of famed chefs Jacqui Tyson and Shea 'Elite' Stewart. The drinks available ranged from Johnnie Walker, Baileys, Ciroc, Patron, Laurent Perrier, Moet, Hennessy, and Appleton Estate.
Usain Bolt's appearance
Music by DJ GQ - Miami; DJ Lava - Trinidad; DJ Cruise and DJ Kurt Riley kept the partying going so much so that the patrons partied was past the 10 p.m. lock-off time. No stranger to the party scene, the world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, made an appearance for his first party back home for the holidays.
The Digicel, Ciroc and Heineken cabanas were also a great touch to the party. It lit up the entire venue, giving it such visual appeal that it instantly gave you a feeling of intoxication and happiness that you haven't felt anywhere else in a long time.
Patrons were dressed to a tee, and our style lens was out and about looking around at all the ladies and gents in their fashionable fare. Cut off jump-suits, colour blocked suits, leather skirts, printed tribal maxi dresses and high waisted pants were some of the trends that were seen.
There is a sense from the ladies that they want to step up their A game and stand apart from the pack. However, the gents kept it fresh with on-trend coloured trousers and blazers, pairing them with printed button-up shirts, and some even wearing colour blocked bow ties.
Overall, Cabana City was a hit! Congrats to PP, Deane and Che, the game changers of the season, for throwing another successful party on the waterfront that helped to kick off the holiday party scene.
