NCB helps inner-city youths become entrepreneurs
In a low job market, uneducated, unskilled youths who reside in stigmatised communities, such as Denham Town, Rose Town, Trench Town, August Town, Cave Valley, New Haven and Waterhouse, have little chance of finding employment and often become easy prey for recruitment into criminal activities.
Helping young men and women from these communities to 'Put Their Best Lives Forward', NCB Foundation (NCBF), through its partnership with the Area Youth Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme, is providing a boost so that they can turn their entrepreneurial dreams into reality. NCBF, supported by the European Union and the Jamaica Social Investment Fund, has assisted with purchasing equipment and materials to aid in starting up businesses such as graphic arts, videography and editing, cosmetology and catering.
