Silver Star Motors introduces CLA 45 line with AMG Edition 1

Last Tuesday, Silver Star Motors launched the Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG Edition 1 at their South Camp Road headquarters, heralding the dealership's plans to bring in more models in short order.

The CLA 45 AMG Edition 1, which was officially introduced as the only one brought into the Caribbean, had already been purchased when the vehicle was launched. The sticker price was approximately $11.85 million.

The vehicle incorporates a glossy exterior with a rear lip spoiler, matte-black 19-inch wheels, graphite side strips, and red accents for the front grille, mirrors, wheels and brake calipers. The cabin comes with sport seats, the Edition 1 badge and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Nestled under the bonnet is a turbocharged 2-litre four-cylinder engine. The car can also hit 62mph in just 4.6 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

Never settles

Silver Star is understandably happy with the vehicle. "Benz never settles. Safety was pioneered by them and then filtered to all the other brands. It's what Mercedes does. It comes in and revolutionises everything that they do. This 2-litre turbo engine never existed before two years ago, and now they have made the most powerful one ever," said brand sales manager for Mercedes-Benz, Sloane Jackson.

When asked what the CLA 45 will bring to the market, Jackson said, "It brings a price range that everyone can get to. It brings enthusiasm back to a lot of young drivers in terms of the value of the car. It brings back the excitement to where everyone can appreciate it - and it's not out of your price range in comparison to the rest of the AMG vehicles in the $25 and $30 million price range."
