Launching the S5

Last Thursday, Samsung Jamaica had 'techies' going wild with the launch of the S5.
Launched at the Spanish Court Hotel, the phone is so useful and interactive that even the technologically challenged would fall in love with the device.
Host Judith Denton walked through the crowd showing off her shimmery white Samsung S5. To demonstrate one of its new features, she 'accidentally' spilled some water on it to highlight its new water-resistance feature. Then she 'called' her co-host, Elias Kabeche, to help her explain the additional features of the S5.
Among the new features are a faster and more accurate light sensor and a 16 mega pixel camera. The device is not only water resistant, but also dust resistant.
"Now, I am not saying that someone should go and submerge their phone in water, but you should not be afraid to text in the rain and, if water throws away on it, it should be fine," Kabeche said.
Special security feature
There is also a fingerprint scanner that maximises security and allows for people to pay their bills from their phone without passwords or patterns. Then, there is the spectacular ultra power save mode that allows the phone to keep going for 24 hours on 10 per cent battery life by closing unnecessary features and applications while allowing the owner to call, browse and play videos.
The S5 was not the only thing being launched as the Samsung Gear two, Gear two Neo and Gear Fit were also on display. These can be used along with the S5 and the combination of the S5 and Gear Fit might even eliminate the need for a physical trainer with its personalised workout recommendation and heart rate monitor.
After the discussion with Denton and Kabeche, guests were allowed to play around with the devices and test out the features on their own.
