The St. Kitts and Nevis Police Force is reporting a decrease in gang related violence since an interactive programme was launched.

Commissioner of Police, Austin Williams, said he has been communicating with active gang members and encouraging them to leave the gangs through the media.

He said the security forces have been strict in carrying out intelligence gathering, and enforcement procedures such as regular searches and patrols.

As a result, the gangs are slowly disintegrating.

Commissioner Williams said the gang members have shown appreciation to the new strategy adopted by the police.
