Members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) allegedly assaulted a plain clothed policeman after he was caught spying on their meeting.

National Security Minister, Einstein Louison said the police officer, who was on duty at the time of the incident was held against his will and manhandled by the politicians.

He said law enforcement authorities are now investigating the matter, which is said to be of a criminal nature.

The NDC is contending that the act by the police officer is a violation of the constitutional rights of the citizens of Grenada.

However, the governing party said its members had nothing to do with the recording of the NDC’s meeting.
