Barbados to import South America flour

The Barbados government is considering importing flour from South America to ensure cheaper prices for consumers.

Flour on the island has reportedly been increased by 30 percent.

Fuel price increases have also been announced, and taxi operators and trucking companies said they would have to pass on these increases to consumers.

The David Thompson administration said it had no option but to increase the cost of gasoline, diesel, kerosene and cooking gas, because of high world oil prices.
