Kenya\'s government has reportedly agreed to most of the demands of prison warders who took strike action on Friday.

The warders, who have been guarding the prisons but have not been working inside, had threatened to start releasing prisoners if their demands were not met.

Kenya’s vice-president, Kalonzo Musyoka said the government would give them an extra $80 risk allowance, as well as $160 for helping quell election violence.

Mr. Msyoko said the warders would also be given free uniforms.
