Zimbabwe opposition united

Zimbabwe\'s rival opposition factions said they have reunited, declaring they have a majority in parliament.



A joint announcement was made yesterday by Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutambara, whose faction split in 2005.



The final results of parliamentary and presidential polls have still not been published more than four weeks after the elections.



Mr. Tsvangirai said he beat President Robert Mugabe outright in the polls.



Independent monitors and Mr. Mugabe\'s allies said that neither candidate passed the threshold of more than 50 percent of the vote to be declared the president.
