There is speculation that Zimbabwe will take measures to tackle the country\'s rampant inflation.

According to media reports from that country, the central bank plans to knock several zeros off the Zimbabwean dollar in an effort to overcome cash shortages that are crippling the economy.

Zimbabwe reportedly reduced its currency by three zeros in 2006.

Zimbabwean journalist Brian Hungwe said some economists expect the government to introduce a new currency.

Last week, Zimbabwe introduced a $100 billion note, as official figures put inflation at

$2.2 million.

However, real inflation is believed to be much higher.
