Two opposition parliamentary parties in Guyana have blasted the international community for its failure to help the country address violent crimes.

In a joint statement the Alliance For Change and the Guyana Action Party demanded that the international community participate in solving the crime problem.

The parties criticism comes in the wake of the recent slaughter of 11 Lusignan, east coast residents and the shooting death of a Guyana Defence Force soldier at Buxton.

Police have offered a record US$250,000 reward for information leading to the capture of Rondel Rawlins, who allegedly masterminded the crimes.
