Sagicor Life Jamaica has invested more than $3 million in the company's Corporate Scholarship Awards programme. More than 133 applicants were successful this year, 92 at the primary level and 41 at the secondary level.

Richard Byles, president and CEO at Sagicor, said the scholarship programme is part of a bigger focus in relation to Sagicor's contributions to its team members. He noted programmes such as these that are built around education and the development of children and communities demonstrated the company's commitment to the development of Jamaica.

Ricardo Allen, managing director of One-on-One Educational Services Limited, delivered an awe-inspiring presentation in which he sought to motivate the young awardees to pursue their dreams despite the challenges they may encounter.

"Forward thinking, where one does not simply aspire and desire success but puts out the effort, is the key to achieving one's goals. Everyone has goals and desires but you have to work towards them," said Allen, who is also a Sagicor Scholarship recipient.
