Spelling Bee: Kingston and St Andrew finalists battle for championship title

After six rounds of spelling and 12 misspelt words The Gleaner's Children's Own  Spelling Bee competition is down to two finalists.

Assana Thompson from Kingston and Chaunte Blackwood from St Andrew are now battling for the championship title.

Larona Clayton from Clarendon, Lando Fullerton from St Thomas and Israel Burnett from St Catherine dropped out after they used up all their handicaps.

Ojea Shekleford of Manchester High, misspelt his word and dropped out.

Shekleford, the only male who was remaining in the competition has been declared the boy champion.
