Golding responds to Shaw in Budget Debate today
Opposition spokesman on Finance Mark Golding will today respond to his counterpart in his maiden contribution to the Budget Debate in Parliament.
Golding, who is known to be a stickler for detail, says he is prepared for the debate.
"I have some things I would like to say and this is a good opportunity to get my message across," he told The Gleaner yesterday.
As an attorney-at law, Golding specialises in banking and corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions. His particular specialisation is the law of credit and security, mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructuring.
Last week, Finance and the Public Service Minister Audley Shaw announced that the Government would not be imposing any new taxes on the country for the 2018-2019 financial year.
Shaw had announced that the Government would spend approximately $773.7 billion in the new fiscal year, which begins on April 1. This is $31.8 billion less than the $805.5 billion budgeted for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
