Champs 2022 | Lyston into Class One Girls 200m final

Hydel’s Brianna Lyston won semifinal one of the Class One Girls 200m at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships at the National Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Lyston, who won the silver medal in the Class One 100m on Wednesday, won her semifinal in 23.04 seconds.

Vere Technical’s Kaylia Kelly, who won semifinal two in 23.98 and St Jago's Shenese Walker (24.26) are the other challengers for the gold medal.

Hydel’s Alana Reid also secured her spot in the Class Two final, winning in 23.85.

Reid’s time is the fastest heading into the final, ahead of Mickaila Haisley, of Immaculate Conception High School, who finished second behind her in semifinal one in 23.94.

Wolmer's Mickayla Gardener (24.12), and Alliah Baker of Hydel (24.26) are the other leading qualifiers for the final.

Edwin Allen’s Theianna Lee Terrelonge, the Class Three 100m champion, won her semi-final heat in 24.49.

However, Terrelonge's time is second fastest entering tomorrow’s final behind Holmwood Technical’s Abrina Wright who won semifinal two in 24.33.

Sabrina Dockery of Lacovia, won semifinal one in 24.67 along with St Catherine’s Aaliyaha Morgan 24.97 and Jody-Ann Daley of Hydel 25.08, are the other medal contenders in the final.

Wolmer’s Natrece East is into the final in Class Four, winning her semi in 25.42.

East, who is seeking her second gold medal, captured the 100m title on Wednesday.

She is expected to challenge for the gold medal by Hydel’s Sashana Johnson, who won semifinal two in 25.62, and Excelsior's Janelia Williams, winner of semifinal three in 25.78.

The other main challengers for the gold medal in the final are Immaculate's duo of Kimberly Wright (25.73) and Kedoya Lindo (26.07).
