The Miss Universe Jamaica Grand Coronation 2024 finals will take place on July 28, the organiser has announced.

It was originally scheduled for last week Saturday but was postponed due to the passage of Hurricane Beryl.

Atelier Dermoth Williams Limited, the authorised franchise holder of the Miss Universe pageant in Jamaica, says this year's pageant will feature a special guest appearance by Sheynnis Palacios, the reigning Miss Universe 2023 from Nicaragua.

She will be accompanied by members of the Miss Universe Organization.

The highlight of the event will be the crowning of Miss Universe Jamaica 2024 to succeed Dr Jordanne Lauren Levy.

Thirty-four women of all shapes, ages and sizes were sashed in May in preparation for the Miss Universe Jamaica Grand Coronation.

A big factor in this year's varied contestant pool was the recent increase in the competition's age limit.

The change was announced in September of 2023 by the Miss Universe Organisation, and allowed women aged 18 years and older to participate in the global competition – up from the previous limit of 28 years old.
