Ding Dong, Alaine, Sevana, Rhoda Isabella deliver high-energy performances
The inaugural Grace Food Festival, which took place on Saturday at Hope Gardens in Kingston, offered a fusion of food, fun, and entertainment. The event was a vibrant celebration of Jamaican culture, featuring energetic performances from some of Jamaica’s top entertainers.
Whether patrons were ‘flinging’ their shoulders or swaying to the soothing sounds of reggae, the festival encapsulated the essence of Jamaican culture at its finest. Popular dancehall artiste Ding Dong headlined the lineup, bringing his signature energy and dance moves, turning the venue into an unforgettable party. His performance had everyone on their feet, mimicking the popular dance anthems. A standout moment came when he invited children from the audience on stage for a lively dance-off, rewarding their enthusiasm with prizes and cheers from the crowd.
Alaine and Sevana captivated the audience with smooth vocals and a feel-good atmosphere, blending classics with new sounds. Dburnz added a dynamic edge with his fiery reggae and dancehall performance, energising the crowd with his lively set.
Rhoda Isabella delivered a powerful gospel set that had the crowd singing praises. Her uplifting music created a unifying moment of joy, resonating with everyone in attendance.
For dance lovers, Dance Xpressionz put on a thrilling dancehall history lesson that was both educational and electrifying. Demonstrating iconic ‘90s dancehall moves, they took the audience on a nostalgic journey.
Beyond the live performances, the festival was a feast for the senses. Attendees explored a bustling shopping village, featuring local artisans, while indulging in a wide array of culinary delights. Families appreciated the Back-to-School Village, offering a variety of supplies and resources to help parents and students prepare for the upcoming school year.
The festival catered to all ages, with the Kiddies Zone being a highlight for children. Activities such as bounce houses, rock climbing, and a merry-go-round ensured that the little ones were entertained all day long
