Does Gov't value Jamaica's money?

The Editor, Sir:

It is with mixed emotions that I try to understand the FINSAC Commission of Inquiry. I voted for this government, hoping that it would turn this corrupt, lawless country around. I welcomed the inquiry, but paying US$2,000-plus per day to the members of the commission at this time is ludicrous. I want the underbelly of the FINSAC disaster exposed. However, whoever set the emoluments needs to explain to the country why are we paying so much.

Can't we find other competent, patriotic Jamaicans to come forward for less? Time for the Government to be conscious and display that they value our money. We can't go with a begging bowl to the International Monetary Fund while squandering funds in this manner.

Mr Golding, this is not good.
