NCB awards top dealers

Last Thursday night National Commercial Bank (NCB) held its 2010-2011 Auto Dealers Awards Ceremony, under the theme 'Driven' at the Pavilion, at Hope Botanical Gardens.

Staged under radiant moonlight and twinkling stars, the event was well attended by media representatives and over 60 of the major businesses in the new and used-automobile sales industry.

NCB deputy group managing director, Dennis Cohen, charted the awards' history and emphasised its relevance to the bank.

"In 2006 we launched a programme in which the objective was to forge a strategic partnership with both new and used-car dealers. This initiative is today known as the NCB Auto Advantage Club," he said. "We are pleased to again recognise and reward our top auto dealers who continue to play a vital role in the success of the programme, and NCB remains driven to make the financial success of its partners and customers our business."

NCB's senior general manager, Audrey Tugwell-Henry, expressed NCB's commitment to being a relevant financial partner to its customers and the automobile sales business.

In the used-car dealers category Colleen Clayton from Jetcon Corporation copped the award for most improved used-car dealer sales representative. The top used-car dealer representative went to Jermaine Blair of Crichton Automotive Limited, with Judith Thompson and Audrianna Smith of Auto Channel second and third respectively.

The award for the most improved used-car dealer went to McKoy's Auto Imports. Critchton Automotive Ltd, Auto Channel and GK Motors walked away with first, second and third place used-car dealer for the period respectively.

Courtney Macko of Toyota Jamaica was most improved new car dealer sales representative and also top new car dealer sales representative. Andrea Drummond-Hart of ATL and David Morgan of Fidelity Motors took second and third places respectively. The most improved new car dealer went to Stewart Motors Limited.

Toyota Jamaica was the top new car dealer, with Stewart's Auto Sales second and ATL Motors third.

The Hummingbird Steel Orchestra provided the evening's entertainment.
