The United States Naval Ship Comfort is scheduled to visit Jamaica as part of its six-month humanitarian mission throughout the Caribbean.

The United States Embassy in Kingston says during the visit hundreds of Jamaicans will benefit from medical examinations by health care professionals travelling with the mercy-class hospital ship.

Optometry, dentistry, general medical, women’s health, paediatrics, and pharmacy are some of the services that will be provided at two medical outreach sites that will be established at the National Arena and the Maxfield Park Health Centre.

The visit is scheduled to run for one week starting on May 6 and the US Embassy says the medical examinations will begin at 9 o’clock each day.
