Cook with the Star for dad

The annual Father's Day celebration at Little Ochie in Alligator Pond, Manchester, will this year include a new dimension.

The event, 'Cook With the Star' will feature 10 specially invited fathers showcasing their culinary skills against owner of Little Ochie, chef extraordinaire, Evrol 'Blackie' Christian.

"We will provide the ingredients for the fathers, who will prepare a dish from their own recipe, and it will then be judged for quality, taste and presentation," Blackie said.

He told The Gleaner the winning dish will be featured at the annual Seafood Carnival, set for July 12.

Blackie has urged patrons and family members to come out and cheer on their fathers on Sunday, June 21, while enjoying the usual delectable Little Ochi fare. Music will be provided by King Survival.
