Alpha Primary Trio Heads To Wolmer’s Girls

Jaunae Swaby, Shante Tracey and Gelissa Russell have many things in common. They are friends, classmates, share the same teacher, have a Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) average of 98.8 and will all be attending Wolmer's Girls' school.

The three girls have distinguished themselves and brought pride to Alpha Primary with their performances, earned through hard work and dedication.

When quizzed about the reason for selecting Wolmer's Girls' as their school of choice, the three girls were unanimous in declaring their admiration of the Heroes Circle-based institution.

Joan Green-Garrison, who teaches the girls, told The Gleaner that she was extremely proud of them as they have worked hard in preparing for the GSAT. Green-Garrison indicated that there was a special emphasis on communication task.

"We tried to do some things differently this year, when we looked at our performance over the years in communication task and we saw what was happening. We decided that we really wanted to make a change in that and improve on it," she said.

For Green-Garrison, the performance of the girls comes as no surprise, as they displayed all the traits of model students.

"I expected them to do well because they are diligent students. I can count on them to bring their best to class and they are also a jovial bunch," she said.

Joining the trio in gaining almost perfect scores are head girl Romae Edwards and head boy, Jamari Bygrave.
