Published:Monday | November 9, 2015 | 12:00 AM

Hugh Smith and Gloria Johnson gave birth to their daughter Marsha on March 29, 1979.

Marsha Smith was a daring mother, a caring sister and a loving friend.

She grew up in Portsmouth, Portmore, St Catherine, and she had seven brothers and sisters. Her siblings Claudine, Conrod, Tricia, Alicia, Hugh Jr, Hughmaine and Antonique loved her endlessly.

"Marsha was known for having the brightest smile in the world and her smile could brighten any room," Antonique recounted.

Marsha was characterised by her family as compassionate, kind and strong.

Marsha was the type of mother who would go above and beyond the call of duty.

She had five children whom she cared for and adored. She would never hurt them.

"I remember anytime they would do something wrong

she would say, 'Watch me and you', just because she didn't

want to hit them," Antonique remembered.

Although she did not use corporal punishment, she never failed to discipline her children Zidane, Zackari, Christian, Mason and Madison. Now they will have to go on without their joy; their mother.

Marsha resided in Montego Bay and she will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Marsha Smith had an amazing personality and she loved her family and friends.

At age 36, Marsha died on October 27 leaving her family and friends behind.

They promise to cherish her memories. She will always be loved and missed.
