UPDATE: Policeman killed on Maxfield Avenue identified

The policeman who was fatally shot on Maxfield Avenue in Kingston this morning has been identified.

He is 31-year-old Corporal Kamoi Miller who was attached to the Kingston Eastern Division. It is believed he was off-duty at the time of the incident.

Our news team understands that the 31-year-old officer was found slumped over the steering wheel of a 2011 Toyota Rav 4 he was driving with gunshot wounds to the back and head.

Residents initially heard the explosion and a subsequent crash. They called the police, who found their colleague dead in the car.
